Frigidaire FFHS2313LS Review – Stainless Steel Refrigerator
Frigidaire is a top brand when it comes to side by side refrigerators and the Frigidaire FFHS2313LS in stainless steel is a great addition to their product portfolio.
It’s a cheap Frigidaire refrigerator too, but there are some small items lacking in functionality – so due to the great price I give this 3.5 stars out of a possible 5.

Design of the Frigidaire Stainless Steel FFHS2313LS
It doesn’t look too bad, and uses the most popular color currently being used in modern kitchen appliance design. I personally love stainless steel fridges because they tend to be durable and are naturally anti-bacterial. In addition to that they make your kitchen look sleek steel and modern.
To be honest though, outside of the stainless steel exterior it has a reasonably standard looking design, and there are no real surprises or “wow factor” design features when you open it up and look at the interior capacity and storage.
Humidity-Controlled Crisper Drawers
Inside the Frigidaire stainless steel refrigerator you will find a standard layout when compared to other models of a similar size. What it does have though are some rather cool humidity-controlled crisper drawers which are designed to keep fruit and vegetables crisp and fresh.
There are two separate drawers like this, and both can be set at different levels. This means you can keep fruit in one, and vegetables in another. For best results I used a high-humidity level for vegetables and a low setting for the fruit. I always keep my fruit in the refrigerator and left apples and oranges inside the Frigidaire side by side FFHS2313LS model for two weeks during testing. They were still in remarkably good shape come the end of the FFHS2313LS review session.
Storage and Capacity of the Frigidaire Side by Side
With 22.6 cubic feet capacity it should suit an average sized family. Inside this refrigerator there are a number of space saving items such as the gallon door bins which are just big enough to hold gallon milk or juice containers – and these are on the insides of the doors so you can easily grab them when needed.
It also includes a clear dairy compartment for meats and cheeses, but you won’t be able to set a different temperature setting on this compartment if you want to. The shelves can be moved up and down inside the fridge to suit the heights you need, and they are also spill-proof.
This means that should spill liquids then they won’t drip down into other parts of the refrigerator due to the widened outer rims. Should you experience a spillage you can easily remove the shelf and poor the liquid into the sink and then clean the shelf up.
The insides of the stainless steel Frigidaire refrigerator are reasonably well-lit, and is average when compared to similar type fridge models on the market.
Frigidaire FFHS2313LS Water Filter
As with most modern fridge freezers that are over 20 cubic feet in capacity, the Frigidaire stainless steel refrigerator comes with an external water filter operation. The water filter itself is a PureSource 3 Water Filtration unit, which is a Frigidaire standard. The manufacturer states that this gives the customer cleaner and better-tasting water. The water does taste good, although it’s not any better than other large refrigerators in this price bracket so not a huge selling point in my view – but it is easy to use.
In order to access water from the external door of the Frigidaire 22.6 refrigerator you simply press the button and your cup will get filled with cold and fresh water – which has been processed through the internal filtration system.
One negative point to the Frigidaire water filter on this fridge is how long the water takes to dispense. Other brands definitely do this quicker, for example you might want to check out the Amana ASD2522WRB refrigerator review also on this website. It can seem like you are waiting too long for the water to dispense – but when it finally does fill it tastes great so this is probably worth overlooking if you want to buy a cheap side by side refrigerator from a decent brand like Frigidaire.
Replacing Frigidaire Refrigerator Water Filters
Typically the filters inside the refrigerator will need to be replaced every six months or so. You won’t need to remember to do this because when the time comes a small light indicator will appear as a reminder to do so.

Crushed or Cubed Ice with the Frigidaire Refrigerator
The stainless steel FFHS2313LS also gives you the option of ice, and you can specify using a dial whether to have crushed or cubed ice. Be aware though that the ice does not dispense externally with the water dispenser, but is instead set within the fridge compartment so you will need to open the Frigidaire fridge in order to access this feature.
There are no bells and whistles with the ice other than the fact you can have crushed or cubed, although one positive aspect is the large amount of ice that you can produce. It falls into a far larger tray than is usually seen on 22 cubic feet units – although you will compromise a little bit on internal fridge storage for this functionality.
Energy Saver Plus – Saves You Money and Bills
One aspect I particular like about the Frigidaire FFHS2313LS refrigerator is the Energy Saver Plus feature. It works simply, and means that if the fridge doors are not opened within a 24 hour period then the refrigerator will go into energy saving mode. This is handy for when you might go on vacation or are away for a few days.
In addition to that the Frigidaire side by side refrigerator is also Energy Star compliant. This rating shows that when compared to other fridges, the stainless steel FFHS2313LS is at least 20% more efficient. These two items alone give this fridge a little bit more of a higher rating when set against any of the minor negative points raised.
Lacking Functionality of the Frigidaire FFHS2313LS
Given the cheap price of the Frigidaire FFHS2313LS side by side refrigerator you would expect it not to come with all the top end functionality that comes with more expensive models. One of the items you won’t get with this fridge freezer is a digital display – for monitoring the internal temperatures.
There’s also no door alarm to sound if you leave the refrigerator open for a pre-determined amount of time – which might be a feature that families with children might want to consider. Please read my Samsung RF4287HARS French Door Refrigerator review if you want an alarmed door.
Plus you won’t be able to quick chill or quick freeze items rapidly which many customers like to have on refrigerators. This helps with items such as soft ice cream or slightly melted ice.
Frigidaire FFHS2313LS Refrigerator Review – Conclusion
If you have limited space and want a refrigerator to fit inside a small kitchen space of 33 inches or less that externally looks good, then the stainless steel FFHS2313LS fridge freezer could be the one for you. It’s relatively cheap – and the best deals on the Frigidaire can be seen below – but just lacks some of the luxury features on more premium high-end models.
I rate this fridge freezer as three and half out of five. It could have been four stars if a little more thought had been made to the interior design and if it had more features. But given the cheap Frigidaire prices available on this model I think you will be hard-pressed to find much to rival it if you are working on a budget.
